Breaking ground at Wellington College International, Pune India

MICA’s masterplan for the first Wellington College International campus, located in India has broken ground in Pune.

The impressive 2.2 Hectare site, now excavated to basement level and with superstructure works underway, will be home to a new 15,000sqm education campus benefitting a community of over 800 students from toddlers to sixth-formers.

MICA’s design creates a loose grid of accommodation blocks along the linear site forming the backdrop to a riverside playing field and provides sensitively scaled covered external cloisters between the various buildings. At the heart of the site a central square acts as the formal face of the college and a dramatic arch frames a view to the Mula Mutha River beyond.
