Chester Balmore features in BBC Drama Bodyguard

MICA’s award-winning housing scheme Chester Balmore features in the finale of the BBC’s new drama Bodyguard. Over 10 million people tuned into the last episode of the series on Sunday 23rd September, where DS David Budd the lead character takes the decision to make a long walk from the City back to his flat in Camden's Whittington Estate, just opposite Chester Balmore.

Throughout the series there are several scenes which show the recognisable brick façade of the Raydon Block through David Budds apartment window, and in the final episode there is a generous shot of the building surrounded by armed police who have cordoned off the usually sleepy streets of Highgate. This shot also captures how the building design is a sensitive response to the context of Highgate Newtown and surrounding streets negotiating between the adjoining Victorian terraces, public park, Victorian library and mid-seventies Modernist development opposite.

There were several unique London locations seen throughout the series, and its been thrilling to know our scheme was chosen to be the backdrop for an outstanding BBC drama.
