MICA is hiring an Administration Assistant

MICA is looking for an Administration Assistant to join our studio in Camden Town London. This is a permanent full time, office-based position which includes front of house duties and document control.

About us:

MICA is an international, award winning architecture design practice based in London. We work at all scales and levels, from a regional urban design and landscape level to individual buildings, interiors and furniture. MICA was awarded Architect of the Year 2020, Refurbishment Architect of the Year 2020, and recently RIBA Award 2024 and RSAW Project of the Year 2024 for Hay Castle, in Wales. Our friendly and skilled teams include certified Passivhaus designers and Specialist Conservation Architects. We are signatories of the Architects Declare: Climate and Biodiversity Emergency and we follow the targets set out in the RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge. We recently certified as a Benefit Corporation organisation as of June 2024. We are patrons of charities including the Social Mobility Foundation, Stonewall, Paradigm Network and are W Programme members.

Your role:

You will primarily be working as front of house, administration assistant for the admin team and wider practice. This is an office-based position. This role includes taking calls and messages, monitoring post, organising couriers, ad-hoc office maintenance, greeting visitors and offering general administrative support on a daily basis. You will need strong organisational and communication skills and have a keen eye for detail. We are looking for someone who is happy to get stuck in, to learn all aspects of the job, and is interested in a career in administration. You will also be assisting the project teams with document control on Atvero cloud-based system, as well as other project-specific document management systems, which will form part of your duties. Full training will be provided.


Responsibilities:

– First point of contact for all visitors

– Assisting on general admin tasks

– Call handling

– Organising refreshments, lunches etc when required

– Printing, binding, filing

– Completing routine H&S checks

– Maintaining a clean and tidy studio space and outdoor terrace

– Maintenance of office supplies, stationery and stock

– Supporting internal project teams with project administration

– Ensuring timely uploading of design information in line with internal and client project requirements to electronic document management systems (full training provided)

– Maintaining internal Sharepoint sites and ensuring reference information is kept up to date


Requirements:

– Good communication skills

– Detail orientated and organised

– Kind natured and understanding of others needs

– Courteous, punctual, tidy and presentable

– Efficiency

– Computer literacy

– Experience in document control is not essential, only a willingness to learn.

Salary:

£26,000 - £27,500 depending on experience.
