MICA make Leeds City Square shortlist

MICA is one of five teams named by the RIBA to be shortlisted to transform Leeds City Square into a major new public space reflecting the settlement's ‘cultural richness’ and ‘climate change ambitions’.

The other finalists are AECOM with Edinburgh’s Graeme Massie Architects; Atkins; Gillespies; and re-form landscape architecture of Leeds. The second round requires teams to develop a design concept for the area.

Stuart Cade, Director said "The project offers many qualities and new characteristics: a landmark and city gateway; a route; a 21st century staging point; a meeting point; and a space for Leeds’ diverse communities."
