West House shortlisted for Brick Award 2018

West Five Boarding House at Stowe School has been shortlisted in this year's Brick Awards in the Education Category.

West Five is a new girls’ boarding house characterised by shifting volumes of brick and is a playful reinterpretation of the adjacent Neo-Georgian houses. Arranged over two blocks, the buildings silhouette is refracted into groupings of taller volumes of brick framed by terraces and parapets.

Shortlisted alongside eight other projects, West House is nominated amongst two primary schools, a university building and other educational facilities. The Brick Awards celebrate projects which demonstrate “exceptional material specification and quality of finish.”

The annual Brick Awards celebrate the best examples of clay brick in our built environment. In its 42nd year, the Brick Awards has established a reputation as one of the industry’s most respected and well-attended events.
