West House, Stowe School shortlisted for Buckinghamshire Design Awards 2022/23

MICA’s Stowe West House has been shortlisted for The Buckinghamshire Design Awards. Celebrating the best examples of good design in the county, the award aims to raise the standards for future built development and land management in Buckinghamshire.

West House is the result of a longstanding collaboration between the school and MICA, resulting in an innovative boarding house typology that combines ergonomic efficiency with a strong connection to the surrounding natural beauty.

The headmaster at Stowe School commented on the completed scheme “The architects show their customary sensitivity to the contextual surroundings of Home Park as a gateway to the Western Garden...West House is a masterclass in demonstrating MICA’s skill in lifting the mundane into the sublime.”


As a shortlisted scheme, MICA’s project has also been put forward to the ‘People’s Choice Award’
