Life Beyond Wellington Centre Gains Planning Approval

MICA's Life Beyond Wellington Centre has secured planning approval, marking a significant step forward in the development of a new hub dedicated to preparing students for life after school.

The purpose-built facility will support the College’s Life Beyond Wellington programme and Wellington Connect network, providing a central space for careers guidance, mentoring, skills development and alumni engagement.

Built on a brownfield site currently occupied by the former Grounds Shed, the project transforms an underused area on the western edge of the campus. The approximately 750m² building will provide a range of flexible spaces for teaching, networking events, workshops and meetings, alongside staff accommodation and support facilities.

At the heart of the scheme will be a double-height forum and central hall capable of hosting around 260 people, creating a focal point for students, staff, alumni and external speakers.
