InterCity Place

InterCity Place

MICA was appointed by the University of Plymouth to lead the redevelopment of InterCity Place. This iconic 1960s building sits at the head of Abercrombie & Paton-Watson’s mid-century Armada Way as a landmark at the rail gateway to the city. The 10-Storey building will become a prominent new facility for the University of Plymouth at the centre of a revitalised station masterplan.

Our proposals re-clad the tired building with a high performance sculpted façade to improve environmental conditions within the building and enable its new academic facilities. MICA led the planning application as part of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team who sensitively retrofitted and revitalized this important building.
