Lovett Way, St Raphael's Estate

Lovett Way, St Raphael's Estate

Brent Council required various houses for social rent to be built across infill sites located within the St. Raphael's Estate. The approach taken analysed the existing estate to identify the opportunities and constraints for adding new housing units. An estate wide improvement strategy was produced to maximise the potential for the infill housing together with landscape improvements to tackle some of the main issues facing the estate. Further sites were also identified for future development that would strengthen the overall strategy. A programme of resident consultation together with a close working relationship with the council helped develop the initial strategy into an action plan for delivering 16 units on Lovett Way and identified the scope for future development for the wider benefit of the estate. Planning consent for the 16 units on Lovett way was subsequently granted.
