MICA has developed the concept design for a major new coeducational boarding house at Wellington College Pune, supporting the school’s expansion and commitment to delivering a world-class Sixth Form residential experience.The new state-of-the-art boarding house at Wellington College Pune is designed to be a true "home away from home." Located to the west of the main school, the building is strategically positioned to offer a sense of calm away from the academic hub, providing a holistic, supportive, and inspiring environment for Sixth Form students.
The boarding house offers separate, secure wings for boys and girls, featuring high-specification accommodation tailored to the needs of modern learners. It provides a mix of single and two-bedroom ensuite study bedrooms, each meticulously designed to balance personal privacy with a sense of community. The building’s architecture and facades have been crafted to celebrate vistas of the river and the school sports pitches, ensuring students remain connected to the natural beauty of the campus.
Beyond the bedrooms, the facility boasts generous breakout spaces that cater to every aspect of student life. The design of these communal areas encourages a transition from guided learning to independent living, acting as a stepping stone to the environments found in university and further education.
