Lyric Square

Lyric Square

The new public square and entrance building at the Lyric Theatre Hammersmith was conceived as an integral element in rejuvenating this area in central Hammersmith. Previously a services route and bus stands obstructed the main entrance, with poor quality lighting and materials, the area attracted anti-social behaviour. Our team were instrumental in developing and delivering the brief with the council, appointed as designers and coordinators of the main works, collaborating with Gross Max Landscape Architects as concept designers. The public square encorporates high quality limestone paving, iconic street lighting, CCTV, and a new fountain waterfeature and drainage strategy. The Lyric Hammersmith Theatre now hosts a variety of outdoor events and performances to the Lyric Square. It is also widely used by locals for markets, yoga, cinema screenings and other events.
